Review:
I bought this book back when it was first released, quite a few years ago now. I’ve been a fan of Daniel Sloss for many years, thanks to his 2 Netflix specials, and I was so excited to buy his book and support him. However, it took me about 4 attempts over the past ~3 years to actually finish this book. I constantly started, got bored, and then forgot about it for a year or so, then would repeat the same cycle.
My main thoughts on this one are just “Why does this even exist?” – I think I’m at a stage where I’ve outgrown Daniel’s humour/comedy style, but even back when I first bought it and he was my absolute favourite comedian, I still just didn’t see the point in it. It’s a book solely of Daniel’s opinions, but there doesn’t really seem to be a point to it. It’s just ramblings about relationships and countries and some other stuff sprinkled in there.
His comedy style is also one that is better in person, so although I could tell when jokes were being made, they didn’t really hit the same as they would if delivered verbally. I don’t really have much to say about this one, but I do know that my copy of the book will be finding itself a new home now that I’ve finally finished it.
